Just the thought of the tangy taste of orange on juicy boneless chicken makes me want to crave it. The only downside is that too much of that tang may lead to, at least from personal experience, a sharp taste in the tongue that kills the appetite. I think balance is perfect that is why for this recipe, I decided to use (as much as possible) natural oranges whose tang flavor are a bit less than bottled orange juice.
Ingredients
chicken breast, cubed
1/4 cup soy sauce
hoisin sauce
vinegar
2pcs oranges
1 small bottle orange juice
cornstarch
butter
Optional
sesame seeds
chives
broccoli (side only)
Steps
Toast sesame seeds.
Mix soy sauce, orange juice and cornstarch on bowl. Marinate chicken in it.
Fry chicken on butter.
Once chicken is cooked, add OJ and 1tbsp each of soy sauce, hoisin, vinegar, cornstarch. Tip: Put enough OJ that the orange flavor stands out
Add 2 tbsp brown sugar and simmer.
Remove fire. You may add small chunks of orange slices.
Serve with sesame seeds and broccoli.
